PROTEK SİLİKA 400 is a water-based, ready-to-use liquid surface hardener with high sodium silicate content that can be applied on old and new concrete surfaces.

Usage areas

On all cement-based surfaces,

On interior and exterior surfaces,

In open and closed parking areas,
It can be used on pedestrian paths and sidewalks.

Application Method

PROTEK SILICA 400 is ready for application. The material is applied to old or new concrete by spraying or direct pouring. It is distributed evenly on the surface with a brush or broom. After application, the material must remain wet for 30 minutes. In cases of rapid drying, the material must be reapplied. After 30 minutes, the surface is processed with a surface cleaning machine or soft bristle broom/brush for half an hour until the surface turns into a gel, ensuring full penetration of the material into the surface. At the end of this process, the surface is wetted again and processed again with a soft bristle broom/brush until the surface reaches a slippery or gel consistency. At the end of the process, the surface is washed again and excess material on the surface is removed. There should be no slippery area left on the surface as a result of the process.

The surface must be in pure concrete condition. Depending on weather conditions, the surface is ready for use within 1-2 hours. Full hardening occurs after 7 days. Full shine occurs between 30-90 days.

Surface Preparation

The application surface must be solid, self-supporting and clean of anti-adhesion substances such as dust, oil, paint, curing material, detergent, mold oils and silicone. There should be no water accumulation on the surface and the surface should be able to be walked on.

Application Conditions

Application should not be made on lightweight concrete blocks, porous walls with dense air bubbles and floor coverings.

If it is to be applied on previously applied floor covering, the floor covering is completely removed and a solid floor is obtained.
Do not apply to glass or similar surfaces.
The brightness of regularly wiped material decreases over time.
Harmful to health in contact with skin
Do not apply in frosty or frost-risk weather.
Protect the applied surface from rain, frost, pedestrian traffic and high humidity until it is completely dry.
Do not apply in conditions where the surface and ambient temperature is lower than +5°C and higher than +35°C.
Protect the surface from heavy traffic for 24 hours after application.

Brush and Trowel

Application tools should be cleaned immediately with water after use.
