Surface preparation
• The existing surface must be clean, smooth and solid.
• Residues such as dust, oil, paint, etc. should be thoroughly cleaned from the application surface with a wire brush.
• The leaking hole should be opened with a minimum size of 4×4 cm in order to reduce the water pressure. Care should be taken to ensure that the depth-to-width ratio is 2/1.
Application conditions
• Ambient temperature should be between +5°C and +30°C.
• Application should be avoided in very hot weather and on surfaces.
APPLICATION
• Rubber gloves must be worn before starting the application.
Application as mortar
• The mortar prepared to dough consistency by mixing it with a small amount of water (approximately 0.250 m liter of water for 1 kg of powder) in a clean bowl should be kneaded quickly by hand.
• As soon as PROTECT-A 070 WATER PLUG starts to set due to the increase in temperature, it should be pressed to close the hole in one move and wait for at least 35 seconds. The surface should be leveled with a trowel in the following minute.
• In holes with a large diameter, the perimeter of the hole should be closed first, leaving a smaller hole in the center, and then the application should be made to the small hole.
Application as powder
A small amount of powder should be taken into the palm of your hand with a glove and pressed to the point where the water leakage occurs in one fell swoop and waited for at least 35 seconds.
• This pressure should be continued until the PROTECT-A 070 water plug has set and the water leakage stops.
• After the PROTECT- A 070 water plug hardens, the surface can be leveled and the next application can be started.
